The same promise, a second platform
Look at how small and mid-sized businesses are attacked today, and one thing stands out. The attacker no longer breaks in, they log in. Stolen credentials, phishing, session hijacking, CEO fraud. Most of it begins with identity, not with the network or the device.
That has a logical consequence. Protection belongs where the risk sits: at the place where your employees' work identity lives. And that is the workplace environment. The mailbox, the logins, the access to your files. On Microsoft 365, and just as much on Google Workspace.
Where we come from
From the start, our conviction has been that a small business owner should be able to keep their cyber resilience in order without being a security specialist themselves. No stack of separate tools, no dashboard full of alerts that nobody reads, no SOC of their own. If you run on Microsoft 365, we cover the identity layer fully, deep inside the platform itself.
We started with Microsoft 365 because it is the dominant platform in the Dutch small business market. That is where most companies are, and that is where the need was greatest. But a sizable group works with Google Workspace. The same businesses, the same risk, the same need for peace of mind. It would be strange to leave that group out in the cold.
What is happening now
Thanks to the CIF-NL grant, we can start building Attic for Google Workspace. CIF-NL is the Dutch implementation of a European cybersecurity programme, coordinated by the Netherlands Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NCC-NL) and funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC). With that support, we are setting course for a market launch on 30 April 2027.
The proposition does not change. The same identity-first protection, the same promise that you need no separate tools alongside your own environment, now also for the business that works with Gmail.
What this means for our partners
For the MSPs that work with Attic, the pool of clients they can serve grows. Anyone who could until now protect only their Microsoft clients through Attic will soon be able to include their Google Workspace clients too. One building block, two platforms.
Where we are headed
This is not a change of course, it is the same course in a second place. We keep building toward that one goal: that a small business owner keeps their cyber resilience under control without having the expertise in house, no matter where their people log in.
